My rabbit is around 10 months old and is very agressive. Is my rabbit too old for her to be spayed?

She runs around marking her territory and is always trying to get away from me. I've read that it is best to spay around 6 to 8 months. I want to get her spayed because of this and also because I want to get her a bunny friend in the future. But i just wanted to know if there have been any cases where a rabbit has been spayed and it didn't ';fix'; her attitude/territory marking habbits. My rabbit is around 10 months old and is very agressive. She's definitely not too old to spay at 10 months 鈥?just be sure the vet is experienced with rabbit spays.

There are some cases where spaying doesn't fix all of a rabbit's behavioral and litter issues, but it usually helps a lot, and the health benefits alone are worth the surgery.

Another thing that might help when she's aggressive is to place your hand over her head/eyes and gently press her head down. This tells her you are dominant. It doesn't always work for every rabbit, but most will get the message and stop the aggressive behavior.

*(If you need help finding a vet, check the link below and look in the phone book for exotics vets. Also call regular cat/dog vets and ask if they know of any rabbit specialists. If there are any rabbit rescues in your area, ask them who they use.)My rabbit is around 10 months old and is very agressive. Is my rabbit too old for her to be spayed?
Better to do it now than not at all.

She's obviously an alpha doe, so part of it is personality and temperament, but spaying will calm her down a little, and she will be less inclined to mark territory.
no she's not too old. She's going thru bunny puberty. Unspayed females have an 80% cancer rate. You can find a rabbit vet here http://www.rabbit.org
I don't think she is too old. you could ask the vet as you will need to call to make an appointment for the operation anyway. if the vet says it is okay also ask about anything special you need to do like not feeding your rabbit the night before the operation and things like that.
