What does it mean when a rabbit makes a soft grunt noise? Or when his ears moves up or down?

I have a rabbit. He is very friendly and acts more like a dog. Follows me around the house and everything. I used to think he didnt make any noise. But when it is really quiet I can hear him making a soft grunting noise.

Also sometimes his ears are standing staight up and sometimes they are back. What makes the differnce? Are they saying what kinda mood he is in? If so which ear motion means what? What does it mean when a rabbit makes a soft grunt noise? Or when his ears moves up or down?
Hey! :D

How old is your bun? When rabbits get around the age of 4 months old, they start maturing. If so, is he circling you? If he is grunting while doing so, this probably means you are his favorite human in the household and is considering you his ';mate';, by instincts.

A soft grunting noise can also mean he is content or at ease.

If he puts his ears forward this means he is interested and curious about something he is hearing, ears back means he is minding his own business, going about his day, serenely.

If he suddenly stands up tall and his ears shoot forward, he is alert and might be alarmed by something that just made a loud noise.

If his ears are pinned flat against his back and he is making grunting noises, he is warning you that he will defend himself; he is scared.

Hope I helped! :D

MarjorieWhat does it mean when a rabbit makes a soft grunt noise? Or when his ears moves up or down?
The soft grunt means that the rabbit is happy and wants some attention and to play. Its like when a cat purs!

As for the ears, this means that your rabbit is allerted by something. This could be anything such as a noise it hasn't heard before!

Xxxxxxx
the soft grunting noise means he wants to play and is happy with his surroundings. also when a rabbit puts it's ear's up straight it means he or she is alert and when they are down it means they are scared or can hear a loud noise.
The soft grunting noise means he is happy

When his ears are standing up he is paying full attention to something

When his ears are back he is just relaxing.
