What is the best rabbit breed to get as a house pet?

Hi, I am interested in getting a bunny as a pet at home to stay indoors all day. I am looking for one that doesn't get too big, and is very friendly with kids and other animals. Have any suggestions? Every bit of help is needed.

Thanks a bunch. =)What is the best rabbit breed to get as a house pet?
All bunnies are great at indoor pets. They'll all easily litter train themselves as long as you provide what they need. It's the personality of the bunny that will win you over.

Just note that rabbits are not the best children's pet. However, as long as your children are over 10 years of age, responsible %26amp; caring and you are prepared to be sole carer of the bunny, it may be okay. Just spend lots of quality time on ground level with the bunny.

I would supervise any interaction with a cat/dog %26amp; a rabbit. It's not impossible for a rabbit to get along with other animals but a rabbit is a prey species %26amp; the others are predators so always be aware.

Don't forget to bunny proof your home so your bunny doesn't accidentally electrocute him/herself!! (see link below)

You can also make an indoor home to keep your bunny safe whilst you're out (see link below)

Also, remember that you need to feed a healthy diet for your bunny (see link below)What is the best rabbit breed to get as a house pet?
Look at your local shelter. They do personality profiles and will tell you which rabbit is most sutable for kids. Plus there is a huge selection of sizes and breeds.

Just a warning however. Rabbits are not the most kid friendly pet. They are extremely fragile, messy, and should not be picked up unless necissary (they can damage their backs if held improperly) My rabbits are VERY high matinence and sensitive.

Rabbits are meant to sit with you on the floor and be pet. Not held and cuddled.
(Rabbits are not the most kid friendly pet.)...rabbits can be friendly if you work with them like any other animal. rabbits are messy but you can litter box train them.. they are also fragile but there are ways you can pick them up with out hurting them or damaging there backs. you can hold and cuddle rabbits in fact that is the best way to get them friendly.. rabbits do require a lot of work but you will find it fun.. as for what kinds of rabbits to get i will name off a few that i think would make good house pets... Holland lops are nice they can make wonderful pets.another is mini lop they are smaller than the Holland lop.. mini Rex is another but to warn you they need a bit more care than most rabbits..Netherland dwarf they are the smallest rabbit you can find but they can be wonderful pets as well.. a really good one is a lion head they are gentle and harmless.. dutch rabbit is a good one also but they are a bit larger than the Holland lop but not by much.. here is a site that lists different breeds of rabbits and how to take care of them http://animal-world.com/encyclo/critters鈥?/a> you have any more questions you can email me at handsome_bill2000@yahoo.com i will be more than happy to answer any more questions
