Would a Mother Rabbit move her bunnies to a different nest during the day?

My dog leisurely laid next to the nest for a couple of days - we put a cage top over the nest for safekeeping during the day. One day, after all neighbors were gone for four hours, we came home to an empty nest - no sign of anything. The cage top was moved - we saw a small area where an animal tried to dig it up. Some say it could have Mama, after seeing too many predators and danger around. What are the chances it wasn't another animal?Would a Mother Rabbit move her bunnies to a different nest during the day?
That rabbit sees your dog as a predator! Yes, she will move them.Would a Mother Rabbit move her bunnies to a different nest during the day?
the mother rabbit probably felt uneasy about having the dog around the babies and she would move them to a more secure place
Definitely moved. New momas are very protective of their babies. Even though your dog was probably fine with the babies, Momma Bunny was probably not too comfortable with the whole thing. Have a good day.
no she would keep them in the same spot unless a predtor was buy
