What is the best way to tan a rabbit or small game animal?

I've tried tanning with a battery acid and salt mixture, but the hides didn't look great, I was wondering if anyone had a really good recipe on tanning small hides. What is the best way to tan a rabbit or small game animal?
Yeah, try brain-tanning a rabbit hide. The hair will fall off and you will get holes in it when you work the hide. It's tough to tan a small animal hide at home. There is a recipe out there that uses turpentine and something else (look around online). Be carefull getting the membrane off and don't worry about getting it all off. Then when it comes to working the leather use lots of oil (order the oil from tandy).

alright whoever gave me a thumbs down tell me about your experience brain tanning a rabbit hide or a squirrel hide. The process is too rough. What is the best way to tan a rabbit or small game animal?

Send him to play at the beach without any Coppertone.
It sounds pretty gross, but a tried and true method is using the animals brains mixed with some urine. Mash the brains up with urine( your urine) and coat the skin side, stretch and leave exposed to direct sunlight.
You know the old saying: every animal has enough brains to tan their hides. lol The first answerer's method works. Native Americans used it too... no one respected more Nature and animals than they did, so let's not be sanctimonious hypocrites.
Pretty distasteful question. Live and let live that's what God wants.
