Should i spread litter/ and or bedding all over my run and hutch, or just in my litter box. What is the difference between rabbit bedding and litter?
I use wood shavings in my bunnies litter trays (outside the hutch) however in their hutch (the main compartment) I use hay, a mixture or normal bedding hay and Timothy hay which is an excellent source of fibre and good for the buns teeth.
In the second compartment of the hutch I have another litter tray, again with wood shavings. This is to encourage them to use the tray rather than pee and poo in the hay (though they still do anyway!!). No matter as I change it every day
I also leave a little box of Timothy hay outside the hutch so this is pee and poop free and they can eat until their hearts are content. Hope that helps! What is the difference between rabbit bedding and litter?
It depends.
Rabbit bedding,is generally used ALL over the cage/hutch floor, where is Rabbit Litter is used in his/her litter tray. I suggest you use bedding, such as Wood chips(NOT Cedar) for his floor coverage %26amp; NON clumping litter, for his tray.
This is what Bedding looks like:
Pine Wood chips/shavings:http://www.erodent.co.uk/Toys/Shavings.j鈥?/a>
Carefresh Bedding:http://www.petsmart.com/graphics/product鈥?/a>
Non Clumping Cat/Rabbit litter:
Wood based:http://www.recyclethis.co.uk/wp-content/鈥?/a>
Paper Based:http://z.about.com/d/exoticpets/1/0/X/I/鈥?/a>
The Paper based Litter,is 'Yesterdays News Rabbit Litter'.
Hope this helps,xxx
Rabbit bedding is like very softened wood chips, and litter is gritty and sand-like.
